This workshop has been developed to meet the needs of safety and quality assurance personnel tasked with conducting or facilitating risk assessments and analysis for their organizations. Individuals who take this workshop should have a basic understanding of risk assessment and risk management principles, as this workshop will focus on techniques and methodologies that will take your risk assessment to the next level.
The workshop builds on basic knowledge levels to introduce various methods to establish severity and probability. Also, different methods of root cause will be reviewed starting with 5 “Why’s” and progressing to using the Ishikawa (Fishbone) method and combining it with the Butterfly method to provide a more thorough overview of the system under review.
The workshop will include various case studies as well as individual risk homework that will be reviewed by the workshop facilitator to provide individual feedback.

Course content:
Part 1 – 6.5 hours
The workshop will include various case studies as well as individual risk assessment homework that, upon completion, will be reviewed by the workshop facilitator to provide individual feedback.
Part 2- 2.5 hours (normally conducted during the following week)
Facilitator will review the assignments and provide both group and individual feedback to all participants.
Homework Component: Candidates will be assigned a case study to complete.
Outcome:
Upon the successful completion of this virtual workshop, participants will possess a thorough understanding of how to conduct risk assessments and get better buy in from other operational personnel.
