Date: One X 2 Hour session on March 13th, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:00pm (EST).
Understanding how to make effective decisions is an important application and career-developing skill in today’s business environment. This module addresses problem-solving and decision-making. It looks at various models of decision-making, including a rational choice model that provides a structured approach to problem-solving.
Successful completion of this module will enable the learner to:
- Define the decision-making process.
- Outline an evidence-based approach to decision-making.
- Describe the effect of ‘perspective’ on decision-making.
- Explain various decision-making models, including the rational-choice, intuitive, and recognition-primed models.
- Explain the relationship between creative thinking, critical thinking and the decision-making process.
- Understand the concept of lateral thinking and how it can be used to solve problems using an indirect, creative approach.
