NEW-Safety Management Systems Investigations (Basic) Virtual Workshop

Workshop Description

CCAA has developed a new Investigations workshop to introduce you to the fundamentals of investigating in an SMS environment and is designed to help SMS and Safety personnel conduct basic investigations.

Having a good SMS doesn’t simply mean telling people to be safe. It’s a structured approach to finding and managing hazards! In order to do that you need to investigate both hazards and incidents.

 Course content:

Day 1 – 4 hours

• Investigation fundamentals
• Investigating Hazards vs Occurrences
• Rules and Regulations pertaining to investigations
• Accident Causation

 Day 2 – 4 hours

• Investigation tools and techniques including:
  • SHEL Model exercise and case study
  • Conducting interviews
  • Photographing evidence
  • Analyzing evidence
• Report Writing

Cost:

• $650 – regular price
• $520 – for CCAA partners

Outcome:

Upon completion of this virtual workshop, participants will possess sufficient knowledge to conduct a basic investigation into an occurrence or hazard.
